Slashers are built for heavy grass, weeds and light scrub, while finishing mowers produce a lawn-quality finish on maintained areas. Selecting the correct implement depends on vegetation, desired finish and tractor horsepower. Using the wrong machine increases wear and reduces productivity.
A PTO shaft that is too long can damage the tractor PTO or gearbox when the linkage is raised, while one that is too short may separate. Always check shaft overlap and trim new shafts if required.
Matched blades keep the rotor balanced, reducing vibration and extending gearbox and bearing life. Mixing worn and new blades often creates unnecessary stress.
Regular gearbox oil checks, greasing the PTO shaft, inspecting blade bolts and maintaining the slip clutch or shear bolt system prevent most expensive repairs.
Maintain correct PTO speed, sharp blades, suitable cutting height and sensible ground speed to achieve an even cut and minimise machine load.

High Flow Gear Oil Pump
Great pump . Indestructible

Highly recommended .We have a few of these as we are a oil manufacturer . These pumps are very good and reliable. I have had nuts , bolts and rocks go through them and they keep on working as the viens and gears are all steel . No plastic that can shatter .Only had to replace a mechanical seal on them once which I was able to get from Scintex . Takes about 7 minutes to transfer 200 liters of gear oil through a 25 mm hose .
